I. TOURNAMENT

Aruba Open Beach Tennis Championships offers 7 tournaments

  1. Mixed doubles
  2. Singles (categories: men, women, masters men, masters women)
  3. Team cup and Nations cup
  4. Doubles (categories: men and women)
    These 4 tournaments are available in the following levels:
    1. Pro
    2. Advanced
    3. Intermediate
    4. Beginner
    5. Country (Only for Nations Cup!)
  5. Masters doubles (categories: men and women)
  6. Juniors tournament (categories: boys & girls U12, U14, U16, U18)
  7. Pro men's & women's consoilation tournament

IT IS ONLY ALLOWED TO REGISTER ONCE FOR EACH TOURNAMENT!!

II. MINIMUM AGE

  1. Singles tournament: 16 years - Masters singles: 50 years
  2. Mixed doubles: 14 years, at least 1 player has to be 16 years or older
  3. Team/Nations cup: 14 years and at least 2 players have to be 16 years or older
  4. Doubles pro tournament:14 years - Amateur tournament: at least 1 player has to be 16 years or older
  5. Masters doubles: 50 years
  6. Juniors tournament: 8 years

III. TOURNAMENT FORMATS

  1. Mixed doubles
    1. Pro Tournament: Single elimination tournament, draw of max 64 teams are seeded according to the current PBT World ranking. Group play on Monday, November 14. Quarter finals, semifinals and finals will all be played on Tuesday, November 15. The first 8 pro teams on the seeding list will receive a bye for the group stage.
      All matches are 1 set till 9, with a tiebreaker till 7 at 8-8
    2. Amateur Tournament: Round robin group of 4 on Monday, knockout rounds on Tuesday.
      All matches are 1 set till 7, with a tiebreaker till 7 at 6-6
  2. Singles
    1. Pro Tournament: Single elimination tournament, draw of max 64 players are seeded according to the current PBT World ranking. Tound robin group matches will be played on Tuesday morning, November 15. Third round, quarter finals, semifinals and finals will all be played on Wednesday, November 16. The first 8 pro players on the seeding list will get a bye for the group play.
      All matches are 1 set till 9, with tiebreak at 8-8
    2. Amateur Tournament: Round robin group of 4 on Tuesday, knock out rounds on Wednesday. Masters (50+) men and women singles tournament will be finished on Tuesday November 15!
      All matches are 1 set till 7, with tiebreak at 6-6
  3. Team/Nations Cup
    1. Nations Cup: Nations Cup: Max 6 players per team. Tournament format (Single elimination or round robin followed by (semi-) finals) depends on how many entries there are.
      All matches are 1 set men’s doubles, 1 set women’s doubles and 1 set mixed doubles. All sets are played till 6, with a tiebreaker till 7 at 6-6
    2. Team Cup: Max 4 players per team. Round robin group of 3 teams followed by knockout rounds.
      All matches are 1 set men’s doubles, 1 set women’s doubles and 1 set mixed doubles. All sets are played till 6, with a tiebreaker till 7 at 6-6
  4. Doubles
    1. Main draw: Registration deadline Tuesday November 1, 6 pm, local time. Acceptance and seeding will be based on the current PBT World rankings, 26 direct acceptances, 4 qualifiers, 2 wild cards (men’s and women’s doubles) Sign in Thursday, November 17 between 4 pm and 6 pm. Matches are played from Friday, November 18 till Sunday.
      All matches are best of 3 sets till 6, with a tiebreaker till 7 at 6-6
    2. Qualifying draw: 28 direct acceptances and 4 wild cards (men’s and women’s doubles). Sign in on Wednesday November 16 between 4 pm and 6 pm. Matches are played on Thursday November 14. 
      All matches are best of 3 sets with the first 2 sets till 6, with a tiebreaker till 7 at 6-6. In case of a 3rd set, a super tiebreaker till 10 will be played instead of a regular set.
    3. Amateur Tournament: Round robin group of 4 or 5 teams, played on Friday, November 18 and Saturday, November 19. First 2 teams of each group advance to the knockout rounds on Sunday November 17.
      All amateur matches are 1 set till 7, with a tiebreaker till 7 at 6-6
  5. Masters (50+) doubles
    1. Men and women: Complete tournament will be played on Thursday November 14 with round robin group play, followed by knockout rounds.
      All matches are 1 set till 7, with a tiebreaker till 7 at 6-6
  6. Juniors Doubles
    1. All levels boys and girls:
      • Wedenesday November 16: Round robin matches
      • Thursday November 17: Single elimination rounds
      All matches are 1 set till 7, with a tiebreaker till 7 at 6-6

IV. REPLACEMENTS, WITHDRAWALS & REFUNDS

  1. If a player is unable to participate in a tournament and cancels before the registration deadline, a refund may be requested. Refunds will not be granted after the registration deadline.
  2. If a team wishes to replace a player, the original team must first withdraw by sending an email to contact@beachtennisaruba.com. When the original team has been removed from the registrations, the new team can register again via the registration portal on the website.
